Happy New Year

graphic - Red Lake District Adult Learning Centre logo

Christmas has come and gone and hopefully so has the turkey. We had a nice potluck lunch on the 19th of December, with everyone showing up with a dish. It was quite a feast and a nice time of visiting and catching up. Then a two week period of rest and relaxation. Now we are back to school already and getting into the swing of things. We have some new students this year, welcome. It is good to see new faces. We have some new classes starting up and I think we are off to a really good start to 2004. We have all kinds of exciting things to look forward to this year, warmer weather being one of them. But also the fourth Annual Coffee House, a Professional Development Day being held in Red Lake for the first time, a new writing class and lots of exciting things. Do drop in and visit us anytime.

Interesting facts:
Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.
The sentence: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" uses every letter of the alphabet.

Christmas Basket

Our ticket sales went well this year and the lucky winner was Norm Hall with ticket number 944. Hope he enjoyed all the special treats that were packed in there. Thank you to all those who purchased tickets and to Joyce and Ron Gangloff at the Lakeview for displaying the basket. Thank you also to Cathy Uhrina at Forever Green Gift Boutique for the lovely job of wrapping it.
