Another Year Gone!

Where has the time gone so fast? Seems like we just got started and now it is time to tie things up. There has been a lot of learning done in this building this year. And next year promises to be just as rewarding.

There are new courses coming up in the fall and a lot of inquiries into when and what will be offered.

As adults, given a second chance at education, and the need for continuing education, the need for an Adult Learning Centre becomes more important than ever. It is exciting to be part of this section of education.

  • ½ cup crushed pineapple
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 garlic clove - minced
  • ¼ tsp. ginger

Combine all the ingredients except chicken; Mix well to make a marinade. Pace chicken breasts in a shallow glass baking dish. Pour marinade over top. Cover with plastic wrap, then refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours. Discard the marinade. Grill chicken breasts for 45 to 50 minutes, turning frequently or until evenly browned and juices run clear.

In George Washington’s days, there were no cameras. One’s image was either sculpted or painted. Some paintings of George Washington showed him standing behind a desk with one arm behind his back while others showed both legs and both arms. Prices charged by painters were not based on how many people were to be painted, but by how many limbs were to be painted. Arms and legs are “limbs”, therefore painting them would cost the buyer more. Hence the expression. "Okay, but it’ll cost you an arm and a leg."
