In Montreal... A workshop on "Building Alliances Between Museums and Communities" will be given at Concordia University's 6th Annual Institute in Management and Community Development. The Institute, which is held on Concordia's Loyola Campus, attracts over 600 people annually from across North America who have an interest in community organizations and development. The full-day workshop on museums and communities is scheduled for Thursday, June 18 and will feature the work of "Reading The Museum." For more information about the workshop and the complete program

Maintaining a Human Face Museum staff interested in the connections between literacy and new technologies should consider attending "Maintaining a Human Face," the 9th Summer Institute of the Centre for Literacy June 25-27). The 1998 edition will accommodate a limited number of participants in a collaborative setting - listening, discussing, exchanging and challenging ideas and practices connected to the uses of technology in adult literacy and basic skills education and their impact on people in schools, community and work place settings.
