Projects,
Grants and Funding Opportunities
The Youth
Photography Project, created and managed by The Learning Centres—Barrie
Campus, was so successful, that the Network has applied to Starbucks Foundation
for funding to offer this again. Keep your fingers crossed!
The Youth
Video Project, currently underway, will have its film, a 13 minute short
entitled “Occupational Hazzards” shown at the Barrie Film
Festival on Saturday October 26th. The film will appear in front of a
2 hour feature length film called Tadpole, staring Sigourney Weaver. Showtime
is 4:30 p.m. Please plan to attend and support this literacy project!
The Board
of Directors of the Network has given its support to pursue additional
funding streams. This includes a lot of proposal writing and great project/program
ideas. Together with this, is the opportunity to create partnerships with
other community groups. Please feel free to call the Network to discuss
this further—or to share your ideas for worthwhile projects and
funding opportunities.
