A note from the Network...
We have just had a moving experience. Not emotionally moving. We’ve actually moved! The Network office is now located in the heart of downtown Barrie, in a lovely old house on a quiet street that is a nice mixture of businesses and residences. The coffee is always on… please come visit! The Road to Reading Festival, held in Barrie on Sept 15th was a huge success! Both Michele Newton, Event Coordinator and Charlotte Lavimodiere, Event Co-coordinator are continuing to share office space with the Network. They are busy planning events for Family Literacy Day with our community based programs in Alliston, Barrie, Midland and Gravenhurst. Please mark September 14th, 2003 on your calendar as the date for next year’s festival, or visit the website at www.roadtoreadingfestival.com for updates! The honeymoon is over for Wanda Minnings, as she officially marked her 1 year anniversary with the Network on October 4th. Bonnie Patton will reached her 1 year milestone on Nov 26th. Remember to read our Network discussion pages, on-line at alphacom.alphaplus.ca for all of the latest information on literacy and community initiatives and updates. Please call the Network at the number below for help in ‘logging on’. Our hope is to keep this newsletter brief, yet still provide a wide variety of information and articles. In closing, your talents, expertise and opinions are needed in the form of contributions and suggestions for Networking. As always, we welcome any feedback you can provide. If it is important to you, it is important to us! Next issue: Spring 2003.
