| "Feelings at Christmas" It was when I was about 16 or 17 years old. I remember my best Christmas ever I was sitting at home with my family one Christmas Eve wrapping some gifts to put under the tree. The ground was white with snow and the houses were beautifully decorated with all kinds of lights and ornaments. We had our free already decorated and lit up with lots of lights. Christmas carol after Christmas carol were playing on the radio. I had a girlfriend who was on her way to my mothers house to help wrap some gifts. At about 8:00 pm, Lisa showed up at the house. She brought some gifts of her own to be wrapped and some to put under the tree. We sat by our Christmas tree with its lights all blinking and a beautiful smell coming from the tree. The scene was very nice. We got all the gifts wrapped, put them under the tree and went to sit at the table. About 9:30 pm we decided to go for a walk. Outside the sky was very clear, the ground was white and the failing snow covered all the trees. As we walked, we couldn't help but notice how some of the houses were decorated. Some had blue and red Eights and more had an assortment of coloured lights. The houses all looked beautiful and the different kinds of ornaments made them look even more beautiful. Later, when Lisa and I were walking, we noticed a lot of skidoos going in the trail, not far from where we were. We decided to take a walk on this same trail where our walking was made easier by the skidoo tracks. When we got in so far, we couldn't help notice how peaceful and how much the country was brightened from the falling snow. Whatever was on our minds wasn't hard to talk about; it was so quiet and there wasn't anyone around, just Lisa and I. Later, we decided to head back to the house. As we were walking, I noticed how much Lisa's smile brightened the evening and how I was feeling about our relationship. As we got closer to home Lisa stopped. Wade she said, "This is one of the best walks we have had in a long time." I agreed and when she looked at me I noticed something I didn't notice before. There was a look in her eyes of love, and of a kind of caring I had only thought about. I put my arms around her and gave her a hug and a kiss like I had never given anyone. After our walk together we went back to my mothers house. As we walked in, could smell the raisin bread baking in the oven and the sound of Christmas Carols playing on the radio. My mother was sitting at the kitchen table decorating some cakes and my brother and sister was watching T.V. in the living room. Not long after we got home Lisa and I spent a few more minutes talking before she went home to be with her parents. My mother and I talked for a while before I went to bed. That Christmas was one of my favourite Christmases ever. I will always remember it because I spent it with the people! love. By: Wade Mitchell.
