| To reflect on 1997, it is obvious that each one of us could find something we would like to change. Maybe we would change an event that occurred in 1997 or we would change something about our own lives. Our lives, to make a comparison, are like paintings. There are brightly colored images, however, there are dark shaded images too. But each shade of color is important and has its own significance. When Michelangelo painted the Last Judgement (painted on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel depicting groups of swirling nude bodies) there was a great deal of upset from church leaders within the Vatican. The church leaders felt that such a painting was unbecoming of the Papal Church. In contrast to the church officials, Michelangelo was proud of his master piece of art. He was quoted as saying, "When we as humans make the world a peaceful, colorful and suitable place, the painting shall follow suit." A challenge is sent out to each of you in 1998 to take some time to
reflect on the past year and to reflect on your entire life. Take something that you believe to be negative and turn it into something positive. A new direction, a new beginning should be your objective for 1998. In conclusion, the staff of "Time on The Line" want to wish everyone a good year. God bless you all. Making the Best out of What You Have... It is amazing to watch inmates assemble and create their crafts with the limited resources they have available to them.
