MEDITATION:

It has been said that "God is the God of every tense-past present and future. He is the help of our past; the hope of our future and the great I AM of today."

In Samuel 7 we read that the Israelites were in battle with the Philistines. After they had defeated their enemies, they took a stone and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying hithero hath the Lord helped. As we look at God's leading in the past, we can praise him for our past blessings. This gives us the assurance of future blessings.

In Genesis 22:14 we read of Jehovah-Jireh-"The Lord will provide" the verse does not say He may provide, or that He could provide, but He WILL provide. As God has provided in the past, so will He provide in the future. Sometimes, however, it is the 'today' that gives us the most difficulty. The problems and needs of today gives us a defeated spirit and often bring discouragement. We must remember that God is going to work for us today as He did in the past and as He will do in the future. He is God, the ALL-sufficient one, for this very moment. "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Heb.13:6)

George Muller had the following motto on his wall "And today" each of us can claim "And today" as our day by day motto. Our God is the God of the past, the future and the present. Our trust is in Jesus Christ, the same yesterday and today and forever.

For over forty years now we have been serving the Lord through the SALVATION ARMY and in a couple of weeks we will be retiring from active service. We have proven the Lord to be our sufficiency and we will continue to work as volunteers in this ministry with corrections.

Our God has been faithful!
