Some literacy programs
are already making changes that acknowledge the importance of self-awareness
and self-direction. Others are struggling with how best to approach this area,
given the constraints of their programs. The project concludes that we need to
give more attention to promoting self-awareness and self-direction, reflecting
on a variety of approaches and how they support learning. This project provides
a starting point for this reflection and makes recommendations on where we need
to go from here.
