LIL Brochure - We are pleased to present a brochure which describes the many sections and features of the LIL website. (PDF file - 70k)
We are pleased to announce that there is now a searchable database of literacy providers who can assist learners with a wide variety of disabilities. The database is still in development and more literacy providers will be added as they become available. (August 2005)

UPDATED Collection of Free/Inexpensive Adaptive Software - Dawson's Adaptech Research Network is pleased to announce that our collection of free or inexpensive English and French mainstream and adaptive software titles has been significantly updated and reorganized. The eleven categories available include Cursor Enhancements, Text-to-Speech and Word Prediction software. You can browse the listings by going to our home page at www.adaptech.org and clicking on "Downloads".

Bow Valley College is conducting a Literacy and Disability Study (LADS) and they would like to hear from you!

Literacy for Independent Living (LIL) is the first bilingual and centralized online library that houses Literacy Information and Resources useful for people working with adult learners with disabilities. It includes information on Assistive Devices and Disability Awareness!

LIL has exciting information from Canada and around the world on literacy and disability issues! These resources are up-to-date and respect the Independent Living Philosophy.

LIL is an online project of the Canadian Association of Independent Living Centres (CAILC) in partnership with the National Adult Literacy Database (NALD). This project was funded by the National Literacy Secretariat (NLS), Human Resources Development Canada.
