Raise a Reader Day

Wednesday October 3rd

10:00 am to 12:00 noon

Volunteers will be giving away newspapers for a donation to Raise-a-Reader. Watch for volunteers at major stores and shopping centres.

Jacques Demers

Jacques Demers, Stanley Cup winning hockey coach will be visiting Nanaimo on September 30th. You are invited to hear him speak about his personal struggle with literacy at 2:00 pm at the Coast Bastion.

This event is free or by donation to Raise-a- Reader. Seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rotary Giant Book Sale

The Rotary Clubs's Giant book sale will take place at Nanaimo North Town Centre (Rutherford Mall) October 4, 5 and 6. Half of the proceeds will go to Raise-a- Reader.
