PRINTS stands for Parents' Roles
INteracting with Teacher Support.
PRINTS FAMILY LITERACY NETWORK is an independent
voluntary organization dedicated to promoting literacy development.
The mission of PRINTS FAMILY LITERACY NETWORK is to
highlight the involvement and significance of parents/others in literacy
development and to support them in their efforts to provide their children with
the best possible opportunities for literacy development.
The goals of
PRINTS FAMILY LITERACY NETWORK are:

To empower parents as literacy
providers.

To help parents become more aware of the
roles they already play, and can play in their children’s early literacy
development.

To support parents in continuing to
develop a home environment which fosters literacy development.

To provide a basis on which parents and
teachers can become effective partners in children’s literacy
development.
The PRINTS FAMILY LITERACY NETWORK
also includes literacy providers in several provinces in Canada, the United
States, Britain, and Finland who are implementing/have implemented the
PRINTS Program, or who are interested in the PRINTS materials as
a medium for supporting family literacy. |
