The Learning Disabilities Association has moved! The President of the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada will be coming to Yellowknife and making a public presentation on April 22/03. Time and location TBA. We are very excited to have Carol Mair here and look forward to hearing what she has to say about learning disabilities. The Learning Centre and LDA-NWT share space in the building at 5102-52nd Street in Yellowknife. The Learning Centre is a not-for-profit private school specialized to meet the needs of students with Learning Disabilities. A centralized location allows both groups to share information, and resources. For inquiries call Petra at The Learning Centre - 873-6945, or Geri at LDA-NWT - 873-6378. What does an Occupational Therapist (OT) do? One important job is identifying learning disabilities. If you have a child who is experiencing on-going learning difficulties, you might want to talk this over with your child's doctor and/or teachers and ask for a referral to OT. OT's have a wealth of information for all of us-children, parents, teachers and advocates. Do you have a story about leaning disabilities? We'd like to hear from you. Fax us at (867) 873-6378, or email us; ldanwt@ssimicro.com. |
