International Year
of the Volunteer!
Volunteers
The following poem was created by Yvonne
Westall, a Laubach Literacy New Brunswick student, and the LLNB Student
Representative. This is what I feel about volunteers:
Volunteers are like Telethons. They go on and
on. Each year their volunteerism touches the hearts of so many others.
They generously dedicate their time to get involved. Their commitment
deserves special recognition.
Volunteers are like High Grade Performance
Oil. A little goes a long way. They stick together the framework of
good communities, committees and organizations. They are the wish bone of
many organizations. They participate eagerly and inspire others to follow.
Without volunteer's strong back bones, many groups would not survive.
Volunteers are like Special Cards! They
care enough to give their very best. Volunteers have Visions of victory.
To help others that might fall through the cracks. They need a special
seal of approval by everyone. Without volunteers, the lives of others would
be all downhill.
Volunteers are like Hair Gel. Their
goodness holds in all kinds of weather! Their hard work and friendship is a
priceless gift that cannot be bought or sold! But their true value is far
greater than a mountain of gold. Giving guidance and support to
others. True charity is sharing with others in the time of need. We all
need their help!
Volunteers offer Great Relationships. If it weren't for them, many people
would not get a chance to communicate with others. They enrich the lives of
so many. Volunteers are part of so many families. We must appreciate
the fact we have so many wonderful volunteers in Our Organization!
Our volunteers are like Air Canada. They
make the going great for so many! We should be proud of each and every one.
All! Volunteers need to be acknowledged and shown our appreciation.
