30 Hour Reading Challenge – until May 2012
Open to children in Kindergarten to Grade 8 who reside in North Simcoe. For every 30 hours participants read they will have their names entered into a draw to win one of three $30 gift certificates sponsored by Minds Alive.

Ladies-Only One Day Slo-Pitch Tournament
June 2, 2012 (tournament rain date: June 9)
Pre-register your team by May 18 to participate in a fun slo-pitch tournament in support of the Midland Area Reading Council. The tournament takes place at the Oakwood and Sunset Parks in Victoria Harbour and includes a BBQ, used book sale, silent auction table and great prizes. After the tournament, join us for a dance at the Oakwood Park Community Centre at 8 p.m. Tickets $5/person. For more information about the tournament or dance click here.

TD Waterhouse Ladies Only Golf Tournament
June 13, 2012
Once again, Jill M. St. Amant, Financial Planner with TD Waterhouse, is organizing a Ladies-Only Golf Tournament in support of the Midland Area Reading Council. For only $70 enjoy 9 holes of golf at the Brooklea Golf and Country Club, a BBQ dinner, great prizes and gift bags for each golfer. Register by June 1 to secure your spot!
11th Annual Books for Brunch

On October 21, 2011 Simcoe North MP Bruce Stanton held a fish fry supper raising $3,000 for the Midland Area Reading Council. Everyone who attended enjoyed a delicious meal and great entertainment all while supporting community-based literacy programs in North Simcoe.
