5th Annual Spelling Bee

The Spelling Bee will take place in the Community Hall at the
North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre, Midland.

Registration Deadline is Monday, January 28, 2013 at 4 p.m.

New this year – a category for children in Grades 1 and 2! The spelling bee is open to children in Grades 1 and 8 who reside in North Simcoe. Entry fee is $5 and the registration deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013. Complete rules are found with the registration form. Registrations may be mailed or delivered to 488 Dominion Avenue, Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. We accept cash, cheque, debit and credit cards. Special Saturday registration will take place on January 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Only the first round of each category will feature words from the practice list. Please arrive at the Community Hall in the North Simcoe Sports and Recreation Centre 20 minutes before your grade category begins spelling.

Grades 1 & 2 - arrive for 10:40 a.m., spelling bee begins at 11 a.m.

Grade 3 - arrive for 11:40 am., spelling bee begins at 12 p.m.

Grade 4 - arrive for 12:40 pm., spelling bee begins at 1 p.m.

Grades 5 & 6 - arrive for 1:40 p.m., spelling bee begins at 2 p.m

Grades 7 & 8 - arrive for 2:40 pm., spelling bee begins at 3 p.m.

Cash prizes of $100 (1st), $50 (2nd) and $25 (3rd) will be awarded in each category, plus there is the chance to win great door prizes.  All participants will receive a free book compliments of Frontier College and Scholastic Canada.  Thank you to our many sponsors for their support of this event.
