Today The Centre for Literacy is launching its newly designed website to better serve the information needs of Canada’s literacy and essential skills community.

This dynamic new website has a clear layout that allows users to easily access The Centre’s research publications, library catalogue, and links pages on topics related to adult literacy and essential skills. Users can also find the latest information on our projects and services. Starting in February, the website will feature summaries of the latest research in adult literacy.

Features include:

  • Easier navigation
  • Clearer categorization
  • Shorter and clearer text
  • Online registration for Summer Institutes and other events
  • An integrated search feature

The website now reflects our new role as a national centre of expertise in the field of adult literacy and essential skills.

About The Centre for Literacy

The Centre for Literacy is a Montreal-based centre of expertise that supports best practices and informed policy development in literacy, by creating bridges between research, policy and practice.

The Centre fulfills its national mandate through partnerships with other LES organizations. These partnerships enable us to manage national research projects such as Measures of Success: Workplace Literacy and Essential Skills.

The Centre has administered local action research projects such as Literacy Promotion at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. It organizes two learning Institutes each year on topics of particular interest in the field. Its Resource Discovery Centre provides a national library service (including travelling trunks and mini-libraries for remote communities), online subject guides, and research consulting services.
