Literacy Alberta is a provincial membership based non‐profit charity working to raise literacy levels in Alberta. We build capacity in individuals, organizations, workplaces and communities. We influence decision makers and we raise awareness of literacy issues provincially and nationally.

Literacy Alberta is growing and we are currently accepting applications for a Project Manager/Facilitator.

Duties of the Project Manager/Facilitator are:

• work with the Calgary based team to plan, develop, market and deliver workshops on topics such as literacy awareness, plain language communications, and essential skills for living, learning and working in a variety of settings across the province
• research, create and develop ideas for new projects
• assist in partnership development and proposal writing for new projects
• fulfill deliverables for assigned projects including successfully managing and reporting on project activities and outcomes
• speak publicly about the value of literacy and essential skills to a variety of audiences

The ideal candidate will have:

• strong overall facilitation skills and experience,
• participated in both mentoring and train-the-trainer facilitation,
• highly developed oral and written communication skills,
• demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a strong team
• an ability to travel as the job requires and
• proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and technologies used in adult learning.

This position is full time and located in Calgary or Edmonton.  An exceptional candidate from elsewhere in the province may be considered.

Preference will be given to a candidate with literacy specialist or adult education credentials.
