FREDERICTON, NB - The National Adult Literacy Database (NALD) takes this opportunity to extend its congratulations and best wishes to individuals in the field of literacy and essential skills who were recently named recipients of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
NALD is proud to have collaborated with many of these individuals in the past and can attest to their dedication to the advancement of adult literacy and learning in Canada.
The list includes current and former NALD Board members in addition to supporters of NALD initiatives and friends of NALD.
“People who work in the literacy field are tireless in their efforts and pass along to those they come in contact with the importance of continuous learning at home, in the workplace and in communities,” said NALD CEO Bill Stirling.
“Without the endless support and major contributions of these people, Canadians with low literacy and essential skill levels would have less chance of becoming fully functioning members of our society. Today we take our hats off and salute these individuals.”
The National Adult Literacy Database is the lead network that Canadians rely on to connect them with information, tools, resources, knowledge and expertise to enhance life-long and life-wide learning.
