Nominations open for Nova Scotia Council of the Federation Literacy Award

Nominations for the Nova Scotia 2011 Council of the Federation Literacy Award opened on Tuesday, March 29, and will close on Friday, April 29.

Created by Canada’s premiers and territorial leaders in 2005, the award acknowledges outstanding achievement, innovative practice and excellence in literacy.  In Nova Scotia, adult learners can be nominated if they meet the following criteria:

  • are over 19 years of age
  • have been out of the regular school system for at least one year
  • have demonstrated outstanding progress in their learning
  • have demonstrated leadership in their community, workplace and/or school, and
  • are residents of Nova Scotiali>

Nomination forms are available in both English and French on the website of the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education’s Adult Education Division.
