Call for expressions of interest to develop a community literacy plan in Saskatchewan

Funding of up to $70,000 is available for qualifying communities interested in coming together to form community partnerships, assess their local literacy needs and resources, and prepare a proposal for submission to the SaskSmart Innovations Fund for 2012-13

Organizations which are not yet ready to submit a full community literacy plan can apply for up to $10,000 to do literacy needs assessments and inventories in preparation for submitting a full literacy plan proposal to the fund in 2012-13.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on July 5, 2011.

Proposal information sessions: To assist communities in the process, pre-application workshops will be hosted by the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Literacy Network and the Saskatchewan Literacy Network in the following locations:

  • Regina (Wednesday, June 22, at SIAST Wascana Campus, Room 106 - 4500 Wascana Parkway)
  • Prince Albert (Thursday, June 23, at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 60 – 12th Street East)

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Cost: FREE OF CHARGE. Lunch included.
