Literacy and Justice System Conference set for November 15 in London, Ontario

Literacy and the Justice System Conference:  Revealing the Connections between Literacy and Crime

When:  Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Time:  12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (coffee and snacks will be provided throughout the afternoon)

Location:  Civic Garden Complex, 625 Springbank Drive, London, Ontario

Workshops will cover:

  • Strategies for working with individuals with low literacy skills and/or learning disabilities
  • Strategies for written and verbal communication with low literacy individuals
  • How to recognize low literacy skills in individuals involved in the criminal justice system
  • Links between low literacy and crime
  • Links between learning disabilities and crime
