This study kit includes literacy activities that can be used with adult learners during an election period. The focus is on helping learners make informed decisions about the election and, at the same time, develop their vocabulary and their understanding of elections and the democratic process.  

The LEARN program has successfully assisted thousands of adult learners looking to improve their literacy skills. It allows Canadian adults to easily access information about local literacy organizations and help them move forward in finding an appropriate learning program.

Training sessions will be held to introduce Read Forward, a new adult reading resource developed by the Centre for Foundational Learning at Bow Valley College in Calgary.

The National Adult Literacy Database (NALD) supports the activities of its partners by promoting national and provincial/territorial events in the fields of adult literacy and education, family literacy, workplace learning and essential skills. One of these key occasions is International Adult Learners’ Week (IALW) being observed this year from April 2 to 9.

This new website is designed not only to highlight the conference, but also to feed the momentum and energy in the field with continued learning, news updates, and stories of change that have been inspired by learning. Full of workshop videos, resources, downloads and much more, this website encourages a continuum of learning.

This is a teaching and learning package designed to help adult learners increase their literacy and essential skills in order to make easier transitions to a new workforce or adapt to changing technology on the job.

A national campaign aimed at enriching volunteer experiences for Canadians and strengthening the volunteer sector has been launched by Volunteer Canada, the voice of volunteerism in Canada, and Manulife Financial, whose signature cause is to encourage volunteerism nationwide.

Adult learners from across the province are invited to share with the coalition what lifelong learning means to them and to the future of New Brunswick.

The National Adult Literacy Database (NALD) has extended the nomination phase for its second annual Innovation Technology Award. Submissions will now be accepted until April 15, 2011.

Early Childhood Care and Education New Brunswick and the Canadian Child Care Federation are pleased to host the national child care conference Valuing Children: A Canadian Conversation, May 26 - 28, 2011, in Saint John, New Brunswick.
