The Canadian Education Statistics Council, a partnership between the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) and Statistics Canada, has just released 39 updated tables from the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP). PCEIP tables offer statistical measures on education systems in Canada for policy-makers, practitioners, and the general public to monitor the performance of education systems, across jurisdictions and over time.

This program was developed in 2009 because the Corrections Service faced significant challenges recruiting northerners with the basic qualifications to work in the corrections field. Canadian students make the grade in math according to new CMEC report

A major new report released by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), indicates that over 90 per cent of Canadian students in Grade 8 are achieving at or above their expected level of performance in mathematics. Almost half are achieving above their expected level.

CMEC releases report to Canadians on official languages in education

The report was compiled jointly by provinces and territories through CMEC with financial assistance from the Government of Canada. It describes the wide variety of programs, initiatives and projects in minority-language education and second-language instruction that were carried out in provinces and territories between 2005 and 2009.
