TORONTO, June 3 /CNW/ - Ministers of education across Canada responded positively to the tabling of new federal copyright legislation in Ottawa yesterday. The Copyright Consortium of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), supports the copyright legislation because it allows students and educators in elementary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to have fair and reasonable access to publicly available Internet materials in their educational pursuits.

Regina, Saskatchewan (June 2, 2010) The Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians announced today that Indian and Northern Affairs Canada is prepared to invest up to a maximum of $4 million in transitional funding through its Indian Studies Support Program (ISSP) to the University of Regina for expenses related to programming for students attending the First Nations University of Canada.
