Nova Scotia to serve as model for new education system in Kenya

This is the second visit of its kind to take place within the past year. Last September, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Canada, Simon Nabukwesi, toured the Strait Regional School Board and met with Department of Education administrators. That paved the way for the current visit.

To mark the upcoming international celebration, adult learners at UWinnipeg were recently invited to share their personal learning journeys – how and why they returned to pursue post-secondary education. A student at UWinnipeg is considered to be an “adult learner” if he/she has taken a break of three or more years from formal education before starting or resuming university.

More students graduating from high school in Ontario

Ontario is becoming more competitive now that more students are graduating from high school. Graduation rates have risen in each of the last six years, going from 68 per cent in 2003-04 to 81 per cent in 2009-10.
