For those working with youth
The aim of the Barriers to Youth Employment in Nunavut project was to develop partnerships with employers, youth, youth service providers, and others involved in labour market development to identify and address problems related to the employment integration of young people. We also wanted to look at current research, programmes and practices related to youth training, employment, and engagement so that we could identify assets and gaps that currently exist in Nunavut. Stakeholders met to review the research and to discuss how gaps in service and programming could be addressed, and who should address each issue. These discussions resulted in an action plan that we hope will be used by stakeholders who working together, will attempt to address the problems related to employment integration of youth in Nunavut.
