On November 20, via teleconference Dr. William T. Fagan will be providing a Train the Facilitator Workshop for "Writing for the Workplace - Writing Process with Workplace Content". The workshop will run from 7:00-10:00 p.m. (Island time).

This workplace writing program is based on a survey of workers with the St. John's municipality from across all departments/divisions who identified two main areas of interest for personal development. These were: improved writing skills for workplace tasks, better communication skills and understanding and dealing with stress. These goals are incorporated into the program. The program consists of a Facilitator's Manual and a set of over 70 handout worksheets for learners. The program was facilitated on two ocasions with the St. John's Municipality workers. Each facilitation involves 1 1/2 to 2 hour sessions over ten weeks. Results were extremely positive.

The program is suitable for workers who have either or both of the two goals mentioned above, adults in pre-employment programs, youth groups, and high school students.

The workshop on November 20 is to provide prospective facilitators with the necessary foundational knowledge to facilitate this for the number of sessions indicated.
