Happy Birthday Canada

by Doug Gibbons

There is nothing quite like Canada day. The celebrations include a magic show, different bands, and dancers. There is also a midway and lots of delicious foods. At the fireworks you can stop and enjoy a beer in one of the tents. There are all kinds of fun activities for people of all ages.

The activities start about 10:00 a.m. and go until night fall.

If anyone wants to have fireworks, they have to call Norm Lalonde. Norm is head of the fireworks committee. The meetings are held throughout the year. The fire department needs notice if someone is planning fireworks. They help to make the fireworks safe. The fire department knows if the weather is suitable for fireworks. Everyone works together to make sure everyone has a good time and lots of fun. The fireworks, fun and games take place at Lamoureux Park on July 1 Canada Day.
