Story of the Week

December 22, 2003

The following poem was written by Susan MacAloney, from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Susan is enrolled in the ABE 10 program at Parkland Regional College. Since she is the mother of a 5 year-old boy, she is also involved in FAST - Families and Schools Together, an 8-week Family Literacy program. Susan is a tutor for Math. Her educational goal is to complete the Home Care Nurses Aid Program. During her spare time, she likes to do crafts like crocheting and she always keeps busy.

Life

by Susan MacAloney

The beauty of life
The softness of your skin
The fragrance of your hair
Speak to me

The summit of you
The thunder of your cry
The rhythm of your voice
Speaks to me

The strength of your will
The taste of your honesty
The trail of your life
They speak to me

And my heart soars with love for you.
