Story of the Week

March 25, 2002

The following poem was written by Denise Mamakeesic, from Red Lake, Ontario. Denise loves fishing and walking in the woods in her spare time. As a hobby, she makes quilts. Denise is mostly working on her English skills - reading and writing. She practices doing speeches in front of the class and other groups.

Spring

by Denise Mamakeesic

Spring is here.
Beautiful flowers - red, yellow and blue.
Spring is nice outside.
Spring is nice for you and me.
You can smell spring.
Spring here, Spring there, Spring everywhere.
I love Spring.

[This poem was taken with permission, from Connections, April 2001, published by the Red Lake District Adult Learning Centre.]
