This week, we have a story written by Rose Goodwin, from Port Elgin, NB. Rose has recently been enrolled in literacy classes at the Port Elgin and Area CASP class. She received her GED, wrote a book of poems, and was planning on writing more poems, but thinks she lost it somewhere along the line. During the winter Rose has been working off and on. Her children are both teenagers and are at a stage where they think they can tell her what to do and what they're going to do.
A time to share in memories
Of
many years gone by
To see the love in both of you
Which helped you to
survive
A time to celebrate the past
The future yet to come
To push each cloud out of the way
To open upon
the sun
Through happy times and sorrow
Through sickness and despair
The road seemed long and endless
But
love was always there
You've shared your life for 25 years
You've shared the joy and the tears
You'll have any more years yet to come
As your love keeps shining like the sun
