The following story was written by Ernie Collison, from Laval, Quebec. Ernie is a 2002 recipient of The Cooperators' Learner Achievement Award for Quebec. He is enrolled at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Adult Education Centre in Laval.
When I strated in this class my reading and writing were bad. But over the years with help from my teacher, which was not always easy, frustration and despair sometimes took over. But with a lot of hard work and determination I have improved my reading and writing a lot. I am very proud that I put in the effort. If you put in the effort you will improve!
