Story of the Week

January 29, 2001

Photo of Rosemary Frampton

This story was written by Rosemary Frampton, from Gravenhurst, Ontario. Rosemary grew up in Markam, Ontario, and because of a serious illness, she was only able to attend school as far as Grade 6. She has spent most of her life in "caregiving" and has worked with the developmentally-delayed, the elderly, as well as children. Rosemary proudly admits that she started "caregiving" at the age of 13. She worked after school and on weekends. She is now working on the Challenger series of books by Laubach.

Rosemary and Turby

by Rosemary Frampton

On Friday morning, I went ahead and did my regular routine. I heard this loud noise. I couldn't understand at first what it was. I went to find out what the noise was. I had run my tub water and I hadn't turned my back for even a second and Turby jumped into the tub. Turby was soaking wet excepting her head. I dried her off right away.

Then the same morning, I was running the water in the the kitchen sink. Turby thought she was to have another free bath. She jumped up on the counter. I got Turby to sit on her behind and she looked so cute.

Even as I sit down to write this story, Turby wants to play with my pen. She is full of energy and fun. Turby is my special angel; I would be lost if I didn't have her now.
