The following poem was written by Caroline Fenney, from Hamilton, Ontario. Caroline is a single mother of two boys ages 15 and 9. She started to write poetry when she was only 10 years old. In her spare time she enjoys doing Astrology and Parapsychology. Caroline started the Literacy and Basic Skills Program at Mohawk College in September 1999 to get her Grade 12 so that she can become an Educational Assistant in the near future.
Learn to love each other, how they are.
Don't judge their appearance.
When you find someone and together your love is true
Give them love and truth and never forget how
important a hug can seem.
A hug can mean more than a thousand words.
Treat one another each and every day with care for,
tomorrow it may pass you by.
For people change and we are powerless to stop them.
We can only hope and pray that they will never forget us
And the love we gave from the heart.
I believe in love, for it is the strongest thing on
earth, that will never die.
A love doesn't always stay of its own accord,
it must be worked on.
