What is the real meaning of Easter?

by Glenn Harper

When we look at Easter, people look at candy, bunny rabbits costume and having fun for the kids. They do not go for the real reason for the biblical side. When we look at 2000 years ago in the bible we see the disciple who follows Jesus to where he is going to die on the cross for our sins. When he went to pray in the garden. When the Romans came to get Jesus and one of the disciple came up to Jesus and kiss him on the cheek. Jesus said to the disciple are you betraying me? Then the Roman soldiers came to Jesus. Peter came to the soldier and cut his ear off. When Jesus saw that said " stop that" Jesus came to the soldier and touched him and healed him. Then the soldiers grabbed him, tied him up and took him to the king.

The people mocked him whipped him. It had glass and sharp objects on the whip. Then they put a crown of thorns on his head. They took Jesus to the Gagotha and they nailed him to the cross. The people said come down from the cross. Jesus said, "Forgive them for they know not what they do". Then Jesus cried out on his last breath and died.

The body of Jesus went to the grave and the stone was rolled in front of the grave. On the third day he rose from the grave and he is sitting on the right hand of God. How he is interceding for you and me. So that is the real meaning of "Easter"
