A Childhood Dream

by Meriko

When I was a child, I used to dream of becoming a dancer. I was a daydreamer. I remember the day my mother bought me a white dress for the summer festival. I loved this dress which I put on full of joy. I pretended that I was on the stage dancing in front of an audience. I also wanted white shoes to match the dress, but my mom bought me dark red shoes instead of white. As a matter fact, I was too short for a dancer; therefore, I had to give up my dream. Time passed and I realized that my dream was unrealistic. Dancers need to be over 1m 60cm tall in Japan. I still love dancing with hot Cuban music. One of my dreams was gone, but I keep dancing every day.
