This poem was written by Garrett Bull Child, from Edmonton, Alberta. Garrett has lived in Edmonton for thirteen years. He moved here with his mother Delphine King. He also worked a few different jobs. Garrett decided he wasn't finished learning so now he attends the Learning Centre in Edmonton. He is improving his reading and writing. He also likes doing math.

Old Lady Lost Her Button

Very long ago an old lady was walking in the street.
she like to walk. she saw a
nice old fashioned skirt in the window.
she walked in the store looked at
the skirt and the clerk asked her would you like to try on the skirt?
She "yes" she tried on the skirt. she liked it very much.
She bought the nice skirt on.
Later she want home.
She wore the new skirt when she went out.

The button came off her new skirt she lost her button.
Later a little girl
saw the button on the ground she picked up and
kept the button for a long time.
she is my teacher at The Learning Center her name is Mary Norton.
