When I was a kid

by Mandeep

It was the month of July in 1983. I was about 5 years old. My new-born younger sister was only 22 days old. I was very happy to get my sister. She looked very cute. I loved her very much. One day I was playing outside with my friends. A man who was 25 years old asked about my sister. He asked me, "Why don't you take your sister out to play with you?" Then I right away went home. Then I saw my mother is working in kitchen. My new-born sister was sleeping on her bed. I tried to wake her up. But she didn't wake up. Then I carried her on my hands and caught her by her arms and took her outside. But my mother didn't see what I was doing. Then I took my sister outside. Everybody surprised me and they grabbed my sister from me quickly because she was going to fall from my arms. Then they dropped us at our home. Then my mother said, "Thanks to God."
