Story of the Week

June 15, 2009

This week, we have a collection of 6 stories written by learners in Woodstock, Ontario. Joanne, Shelley, Joe, Liz, Scott, Rob, Mary, Sarah and Tom are all enrolled in literacy classes at the Gateway to Learning Program, a part of the Thames Valley District School Board. The students in the literacy class worked together to write stories and prepare photos and images for a 2009 calendar.

The greatest summer in the world

by Mary

It all started at Mom's when we decided to go to my brother's cabin. We had to go across the water to get to the cabin. At the cabin I went canoeing and fishing and I had a lot of fhn. We also went to Port Burwell with my sister and brother-in-law and a friend. We went swimming in the rain. I saw my brother feed a chipmunk and I fed him too. I went 4 wheeling and that was my first time. To top my whole trip off, we got a phone call that we have a new baby boy, Christopher Ryan.
