This week, we have a story from Barrie, Ontario. The author, Hollis Rosalle is originally from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, and has lived in Canada since 1971. He is enrolled in literacy classes at the Barrie Literacy Council.
I went back to school because I couldn’t read. I hid this fact for a long time. Now I have a daughter to read to; therefore, I decided to learn to read.
Attending Barrie Literacy School has changed my life. I have learned to read, do math, and deal with everyday life.
Barrie Literacy is a very good organization. The staff and teachers work very hard to help the students, and many social events are planned.
Going back to school was the best decision I made. I highly recommend it to those who still need their basic education.
