The following poem was written by Yvonne Murray, from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Yvonne has been taking an adult education upgrading course through AlphaRoute. She has learned a lot from the course. She wrote the following poem while she was taking a course called Stories. Yvonne had to write about the artist Vincent Van Gogh's self-portrait. She likes to write poems and stories. She likes all animals and the beautiful nature around us. Sports are another activity she enjoys, as well as being very active. Yvonne is also a community volunteer.
Myself...
Here I am sad
As sad as will be
Myself has left sadness
dark and lonely
Myself has no laughter
no smiles
Myself... all that I see is a very empty world
Myself has no love or freedom
I wish I could just die in peace
