Being Discriminated Against

by Ken McLean

I had a rough life when I was growing up due to my learning disability and other handicaps and living in different foster homes. I had people in my past who gave me a hard time by making derogatory remarks about me. An incident of this nature happened on a city bus last week. An adult said to me, "You look retarded." I said, "what!" I did not get angry, but I felt angry in my mind. I could only ignore what this idiot said and I just laughed at the person and exited the bus at my stop.
