The stories this week are written by students with the Halifax Community Learning Network (www.hcln.ca). HCLN is part of the Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning and offers programs at the Captain William Spry, Halifax North, Keshen Goodman, and Spring Garden Road branches of the Halifax Public Libraries.
This is a story about my family.
Clearance has an 18 year-old brother. His name is Doug Junior, named after his father. Clearance is named after his great-grandfather, who is now dead.
My mother lives with my sister Pam at Bellmount. Pam has two children, who are actually adults now. My niece is Marion, and TJ is my nephew. TJ, my nephew's wife Anne is having a baby boy and I'm going to be a great uncle. Their father's name is Tony, who is my brother-in-law. They all live together.
My other sister, Diana, has two sons. They are also my nephews. Their names are Andrew and MJ. MJ works at Sobey's on cash. Andrew still goes to school. Lee, Diana's husband, is my brother-in-law too. TJ, Marion, Andrew and MJ are all cousins of Clearance and Dougie Junior.
My Dad lives with his wife Kim, my stepmother. They live in a nice trailer with Liveia, Kim's granddaughter. Liveia goes to pre-school. My Dad is my trustee and he takes care of my business. I live with my cat Gemini.
