Story of the Week

November 16, 1998

This week, we have a story written by Ksenija Ivan, from Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Ksenija came to Canada in 1993 from Serbia, in the former Yugoslavia. Her hobbies are cooking, baking, making noodles, cross stitching and knitting. She is learning English to make a better future for herself in Canada.

Stormy Night

by Ksenija Ivan

It was a stormy night. My car broke down. It was very cold and dark. I didn't know what to do. I was alone and scared. Bad thoughts were going through my mind. Suddenly, a bright light shone in front of my eyes and I thought it was lightning. But, those were flashing lights from a police car. The bad thoughts disappeared that moment. I was very happy. The police officer helped me and saved me from the dark stormy night.
