Who helped me the most in life

by Charlene Basarowich

The lady who helped me the most in life is name Rose Stevenson. She is a mother of 3 boys. Her son’s names are Brent, Kevin and Chris, the baby. Rose herself is a very loving friend and mom.

I use to baby sit for her all the time. I was about 9 years old at the time and she helped me to learn how to cook. She also taught me how to be a loving mom myself.

Rose has seizures. When I was 9 years old I saw this for the first time and I was terrified. I ran home to get my mom to help her because I did not know anything about seizures. My mom had to explain to me about epileptic seizures. Rose was also terrified because she did not tell me about her condition. Rose’s youngest son Chris also has epileptic seizures.

I baby sat for her for about 31/2 years, before she got really ill. She had to move back home, to Neepawa, so her parents could help her with her boys. She was in the hospital for about 61/2 months before she passed away. I was about 14 when I found out about her passing. Rose’s mom and dad did not know how to get in touch with me or how to tell me about Rose’s passing away. The day they did tell me I was on the run from home. I was having a hard time at home. At the time my whole world fell apart. I felt like she lied to me because she told me she been back in a 1 year, or 1 1/2 years at the must. For days after all I did is cry and I felt alone. Rose was just like a mom to me, she was away there for me.
