My Summer Break

by Diane Larocque

This story is about me and my grandkids this summer. My grandkids came over on July 6/06. We went for a walk over to the hairdresser to get my hair cut with my mother. We then got on a bus and went over to my mother’s place. The kids got on their swimsuits and went sewing in the pool acres my mother place for about 2 hours. We went back to my mother’s for supper she made pork chops mash potatoes gravy and vegetables. After having supper with my mother now being 8 p.m. it’s time for me to go home I go home at 9:30 p.m. I then watched TV. I went to bed at 11:30 that night.

My mother made some coffee. I then went to the Doctor’s for 11:00a.m. I then went home.  I do hope to see my family at the end of August. We have a break for a week in August. My daughter Mel comes in Aug 7, she spent a week with me. She and I went to bingo. Did we win? Well, no we did not. We then went back to my place and I made supper for Mel and I. We then stayed in and watched some TV.

The next day we went for lunch .We then went to do some laundry. We spent about 3 hours doing my washing. We went back to my place we put my laundry away. We went over to my friends and we played some cards. I’ve been waiting for about 6 months to see and spent time with my girls and grandkids. Then July 10 to July 14, I got to spent time with my grandkids. We spent time at the pool, went out for lunch, spent time reading and watching TV. We also did some drawing and coloring.

I wanted to go out to my girl’s and grandkid’s home for the summer break if we had two months off. But we only had two weeks off. I’m going back to school on Monday, July 17/06. I then find out that James, our teacher, is know longer here. We have a new teacher, his name is Murray, and Richard is here helping with the students. This summer program is much different from the September class. We also have about 4 new students. I also found out one good thing about my self - I will be moving to the advanced computer class in September.
