Living with My Kids

by Joanne Brown

My kids and I are very close. My kids tell me all about what their friends do when they leave the house with them. When the go to a party, they phone me and ask if they can come home because they don’t drink and they don’t smoke. I tell them to come home and we can rent movie, or we can go for a swim at Pan Am pool.

We are going camping till Sunday night because I go to school on Monday. My kids do the dishes and make the beds, and do the laundry. My kids know that I do the cooking and the dinner dishes. My kids don’t get any money because we do things different. We go to the store and buy a movie, and then to Dollarama and we buy things for the house or the yard. Then we go for long walks to talk about school. We do a lot of things like a family and sometimes we do nothing at all.

I went home yesterday, and my kids made me supper and they did the dishes. They took the dog out for me and they got a movie. They like to watch Christian movies. We made popcorn and ice-tea. They like the movie they watch it all the time.

Yesterday we went to Foody Goody because it was my son’s birthday and he is 14 years old. He got a DVD player and a TV for his birthday. My family is in from Calgary and Vancouver. We had a food fight and the kids had a water fight.
