Photo of David Campbell

David Campbell was born in Northern Ontario in 1963. He was expelled from school halfway through grade 10. He felt as though he was not at a grade 10 level in reading, spelling and grammar. David is a single dad now and he finds it hard to help his son. He also finds he needs better reading and spelling skills to improve his job position.

Fishing Trip

by David Campbell

It was a weekday about a year ago. I felt like going fishing. So I asked my son if he'd like to go fishing. He said yes, so we went fishing. We made it into a hiking trip at the same time. We went to Thetis Lake. It was a nice day out. So we hiked around and stopped at different spots to fish. After about five hours of hiking and fishing, my son got a fish on his line. It was his first fish. We were happy about it, because it was his first one. We had a good day talking about the shapes the trees and clouds made. My son still talks about it.
