The following poem was written by Sandi Klaehn, from Brandon, Manitoba. Sandi is enrolled in literacy classes at the Samaritan House Training Centre in Brandon. She is interested in writing and is very artistic. Sandi does woodworking, drawings and pencil art. She is also a proud grandma.
In my mind I wander,
Ever lost and lonely;
Seeking forgiveness for my nature,
Wishing for one to love me only.
FOR
In my mind I wander,
Lost in thoughts sublime,
Of somewhere over yonder,
Of someone to be mine.
AND
In my heart I carry,
Pictures from my past,
Of things that wish to tarry,
Of a fate that's long been cast.
WHILE
In my heart I hold,
A fantasy, a dream,
Of a person who won't grow old,
Of a life of peaches and cream.
SO
In my hands I take,
Love lost long ago,
Taken like a snowflake,
Melted by the winds that blow.
